Some frightening statistics: “A distracted driver caused a crash every 15 minutes in our state. In comparison, a speeding driver caused one every 30 minutes. Accidents cause fatalities much too frequently: A person is injured in a crash every 12 minutes and dies every 20 hours. A pedestrian or cyclist is killed in a crash every six days. Impaired drivers kill someone in Washington every two days.”
