Study: Don’t expect big health-care savings from medical malpractice reform

Making it harder to sue doctors probably doesn’t change how they practice medicine, researchers say.

“Defensive medicine”, otherwise known as ordering more tests than necessary to CYA, really isn’t tied to efficient patient care. ER docs continue to order tests that they believe are necessary, and NOT tied to the economics of a patient’s financial course at the hospital.
