‘Stripper Tax’ Could Fund Rape-Kit Testing in Washington State

the state passed legislation that required all kits to be submitted for testing within 30 days back in July

Last July, the state passed legislation that required all “rape” kits to be submitted for testing within 30 days. Considering that many of the sexual assault evidence collection kits never see a Prosecutor’s office, I believe this is a ridiculous waste of money (having been a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for 7 years, I have first-hand knowledge of this). How about rerouting the monies for this over to the Crime Victims Compensation program, where victims of many crime can seek financial assistance for dealing with the repercussions of crimes in general? Tax strip clubs if you like, but be sensible as to what benefits from another wasteful law.
